ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe BSOD on Windows Vista
I recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate to see how it runs as a production and development machine. I’ve have Vista RC2 on my laptop for a while and have become accustomed to the look and new search features. My desktop only has 1 GB of RAM so I decided to upgrade after I experienced some sluggishness due to lack of RAM.
I ordered the TWINX2048-3200C2 (1 GB X 2) kit off of Newegg. After the installation, my computer BSOD’d when Vista tried to start. With much frustration I searched Google and tried to debug the problem on my own.
I eventually found a forum which had someone with a similar problem. Here are the suggested settings:
CPU Freq: 200 MHz
System Performance: User Define
Memory Frequency: 100%
Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts
Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz
Memory timings: Manual
Would results in these settings
SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T
SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T
SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T
Graphics Aperture Size is 128 MB

UPDATE: My computer soon started to ridiculously crash. I ran Memtest86+ and found out that my RAM modules were bad, well they have been sent back to Newegg.
